Attend a Free “Basic Skywarn” Class
Become a trained severe weather spotter
The City of Williamsburg and James City County, in partnership with the National Weather Service, offer a "Basic SKYWARN" class Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at 6:00 pm at the James City County Recreation Center, at 5301 Longhill Road.
The 2-hour “Basic SKYWARN” class covers all the background information needed for a citizen to become a trained severe weather spotter. The course is free of charge, and is led by a National Weather Service meteorologist. Once trained, spotters play an important role in providing the National Weather Service with vital weather information when severe weather occurs.
