Citizen Survey on Housing for City's Comp Plan

Post Date:09/06/2018 11:52 AM

As part of the City's Comprehensive Plan (Comp Plan) update, the Planning Department has developed a brief six question survey covering various housing topics. Residents are encouraged to complete the survey and let their voices be heard regarding Airbnb, four person rentals, density and affordability.

What is the Comp Plan? It is the adopted policy guide for land use. The Plan addresses areas such as community character, population growth, economic development, housing, environment, infrastructure and transportation. A critical part of the update is receiving community input on all topics covered in the Plan.

On May 23, 2018, the Planning Commission began holding monthly Work Sessions on the fourth Wednesday of every month to review and discuss the topics and chapters in the Comp Plan. These meetings are open to the public and citizens are invited to attend and provide input during the Open Forum portion of the meeting. The Planning Commission also welcomes the opportunity to receive feedback through other platforms including listening sessions and online surveys. The housing survey will be open through September 21st and the Planning Commission will review the results of the survey at their Work Session on September 26th.

Again, please take a moment to complete the brief survey.
