The Regional Issues Committee (RIC) is encouraging citizen involvement and discussion by adding an Open Forum at the beginning and end of each meeting agenda. The first meeting with the new format will be July 27, 2010, at 8:30 am at the Williamsburg Community Building, 401 N. Boundary Street. Items on the agenda include a status report on the implementation of the 1988 recommendations of the Williamsburg Regional Commission on Growth, and continuation of the discussion on ways to engage citizens for the 2012 Comprehensive Plan process. The Agenda and background materials are available online for viewing and downloading:
The Regional Issues Committee was formed in 1988 to review the recommendations of the Williamsburg Regional Commission on Growth, and has 17 voting members and 3 advisory members representing the governing bodies and Planning Commissions of the three jurisdictions (the City of Williamsburg and James City and York Counties), as well as major institutions (William and Mary, Colonial Williamsburg Foundation, National Park Service, Jamestown/Yorktown Foundation, Greater Williamsburg Chamber and Tourism Alliance and VDOT).
The Committee meets quarterly on the fourth Tuesday of January, April, July and October at the Williamsburg Community Building. The meetings are open to the public.
