The City contracts with James City County Animal Control to provide enforcement of regulations related to domestic dogs and cats including licensing and rabies control.  Investigation services are provided covering neglect, cruelty, stray animals and animal bites/attacks.  Animal Control can also assist with lost pets and adoptions.  Please call 757-253-1800 for information. 

The Heritage Humane Society accepts animals who are homeless and offers pets for adoption. Please call 757-221-0150.
