Everbridge Text Alert System (Formerly City411)

Effective December 6, 2013, the City will no longer send Emergency Preparedness Notifications via the e-notification system and City 411 texting service. The City of Williamsburg has contracted with the Everbridge Alert System to allow you to opt-in to receive emergency notifications via phone calls, text messaging and/or e-mail.

One of the advantages of the Everbridge system is that although you may list several methods of contact, attempts to reach you will be made only until the system confirms you've received the message. It doesn't continue trying to contact you via all the paths you've listed.  The system also includes weather updates and a medical needs registry.

Even if you've been receiving Emergency E-notifications, you will need to register your email address with the new system -- and include alternative methods of notification if you choose (e.g., texting or home or business phone). Your information will remain private and can be updated by you at any time.
You will continue to receive non-emergency notifications through E-Notify for other updates. (e.g., Council Agendas, etc.)
