Williamsburg Beautification
Awards Program

Nomination forms for Williamsburg 's Annual Beautification Recognition program may be picked up at the City Planning Office in the Municipal Building, the Williamsburg Branch Library, and the Greater Williamsburg Chamber of Commerce or online in PDF .City's Beautification Advisory Committee, sponsor of the award program, states that the program honors City residents and businesses who contribute to the improvement and beautification of our community. The selection committee encourages the submittal of photographs along with the nomination form.

Application deadline is early July. Winners will be honored at the September Planning Commission meeting and will receive a framed certificate and an acknowledgement sign placed on the site for one year. Nominations can be in one of several categories: Neighborhoods, Businesses (with subcategories Bed & Breakfasts, General Business, and Hotel/Motel), Institutions, Service Clubs & Organizations, and Individuals.

Tthe Committee encourages nominations for clean-up programs; new, expanded or well-maintained buildings; landscaping; new signage; lighting or recycling efforts. The BAC hopes particularly to inspire City neighborhoods to organize clean-up and improvement projects. They hope businesses will work together for improved coordinated streetscaping. One of the goals of the award program is to encourage pride of place that makes Williamsburg unique.
