ANIMAL CONTROL – The City contracts with James City County Animal Control to provide enforcement of regulations related to domestic dogs and cats including licensing and rabies control. Investigative services are provided covering neglect, cruelty, stray animals and animal bites/attacks. Animal Control can also assist with lost pets or adoptions. The Heritage Humane Society (HHS) provides shelter and accepts animals that are homeless with the hope that they will eventually be adopted. The City leases the shelter and property located at 430 Waller Mill Road to HHS. Please call 221-0150 with any questions or visit their website at www.heritagehumanesociety.org
