GARBAGE COLLECTION is provided by the City through a contract with a waste collection company. Residents must provide refuse containers (two 20 gallon or one 40 gallon). Household refuse is collected twice a week from the rear, side yard or curb. Depending on what area of the City you reside, garbage is collected on either Monday-Thursday or Tuesday – Friday.
Please mark your calendars for these holidays that may affect your regular refuse collection.

The weekly recycling pickup schedule will be unaffected by any of the holidays. Please consider making this Christmas a "Green Christmas" by recycling all your cardboard gift boxes. However, wrapping paper, plastics and styrofoam are not recyclable items and should be disposed of with your regular refuse collection.
Christmas Trees will be collected curbside on January 7 and January 14, 2008.

Golden Rules for Garbage Collection
- Residents must provide containers with the restriction of 40 gallons per collection day (twice a week).
- Garbage must be out before 7 a.m. on your assigned collection day.
- Bag all items for collection.
- If you have extra bags, place them next to your can to insure all garbage is collected.
- Containers are required to have lids to stop animal infestation and avoid rain water build up.
- Bulk items are only collected only by appointment. Residents are limited to (2) two large items per collection with a limit of 3 bulk collections per year. Building materials are not accepted.
- 10 bags of leaves/grass clippings OR ten bundles of sticks wrapped with twine or boxed less than 4 feet in length and 3 inches in diameter will be collected curbside without appointment on your assigned collection day.
Yard Debris -
Please call 220-6140 with any questions or to arrange a bulk pick up.
Yard Waste is collected on your regular pick up days at curbside. Please bag yard waste and box or bundle sticks with twine in less than 4 foot lengths. Only 10 bags or bundles are allowed each pick up day.
Household Bulk items such as sofas, chairs, washers/dryers, mattresses, refrigerators will be picked up by appointment only. Residents should call the City two days prior to desired pick-up. Collections are limited to two items per collection and three collections per year. NO building materials will be collected.
Household Chemical Collection Residents can drop off at no charge: paint & household maintenance products, lawn & garden products, household chemical products, automotive products, and miscellaneous household chemicals. Resident computer recycling also available on specific date(s) listed below.
New Item added to Household Chemical Collection
Just in...CFL's (compact fluorescent light bulbs) and fluorescent bulbs are now accepted at the household chemical collections. Residents are not required to pack the items in any specific manner. Clean Harbor will be on-site to collect and pack. Next collection is this Saturday, April 12 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Questions? call 220-6140.

Leaf Pick-up at curbside is provided by the City during November and December. Leaves must be raked to the curb and not bagged.
There are 4 collections for each route during the months of November and December. Refer to the schedule for your route and corresponding collection dates. In order to progressively move from one route to the next, each street on each route will be collected only once during the week.
To insure collection, leaves must be out before 7:00 am on the Monday of your scheduled week.
Christmas Trees are collected at curbside the 1st and 2nd Monday after New Year’s Day.
