- ACTING / PRODUCTION
An acting and production class that is dedicated to encouraging, inspiring, and educating young people interested in the area of performing arts. Their mission is to prepare performers to succeed in the competitive world of entertainment. Classes include: Auditioning techniques, cold reading, memorization, improv, scene scripts, movement, and performance. Classes held at the Quarterpath Recreation Center. - DANCE
Pre-Ballet (ages 3-4), Ballet / Basic Tap (ages 5-9), Ballet / Tap II (ages 10+) Hip-Hop Explosion/Street Dance (ages 8 and up), Jazz (ages 7+) and Tumbling (ages 4-12). The dance room is equipped with a neo-shock floor, bars, mirrors, benches and stereo system. There is a dress code for each class. Previous students are given first priority registration. A waiting list is then utilized to fill the remaining spaces. Call 259-3760 to get current fee, class schedule or to be added to the waiting list. - LITTLE DRAGONS
A fun karate preparation class for ages 3 to 5 that teaches basic karate and helps improve concentration, balance, discipline and motor skills. Your child will learn animal strengths and to count in Japanese. Parent participation is recommended and highly encouraged. Classes held at the Quarterpath Recreation Center on a monthly basis. - DOG OBEDIENCE
Obedience classes are offered for dogs 3 months and older in the spring, summer and fall (no winter classes) at 6:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. All vaccinations must be current. Call 259-3760 for more information or to be placed on the waiting list.
- TAE KWON DO INSTRUCTION
This class is designed to increase confidence, physical fitness and concentration for ages 6 and up. Classes are held at the Quarterpath Recreation Center for all belts on Wednesdays and Saturdays. The instructor is Brad Tinnon. Classes can be joined at any time. Please call 259-3760 for current fee and class schedule.
- TAI CHI
An ancient martial art exercise known for being low impact. Its qualities include improving balance and sharpening the ability to concentrate while gently stretching the body. There are two different Tai Chi classes available at Quarterpath Recreation Center.
40 Form is a beginner's introduction to the advanced form of Tai Chi that will be used in the 2008 Olympics.
24 Form is an entry-level form of Tai Chi that is a great way to enjoy the restful and interesting process of learning an ancient Chinese art.

- TENNIS LESSONS BEGINNER
Tennis Lessons Beginner is a 4-week instructional program for new and “rusty” returning players. This program combines instruction and play while emphasizing the fun and social aspects of tennis. Sessions are offered in the spring, summer and fall for ages 8 to adult.
- Spring - begins in April with registration in March
- Summer - begins in June with registration in May
- Fall - begins in September with registration in August.
Instruction is given at Kiwanis Park Tennis Courts and meets on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. Fee is payable during registration the month before the session starts. Please call the Quarterpath Recreation Center at (757) 259-3760 for the current fees. Early registration is recommended, as space is limited and participants will not be allowed to join in the middle of any session.

These Yoga classes are designed to improve circulation plus strengthen and tone the entire body while relaxing the mind. You will learn gentle Yoga postures to promote balance, poise and concentration to your individual readiness level. Classes are held at the Quarterpath Recreation Center on a monthly basis. - VOLLEYBALL SPECIALTY CLINICS
Offered periodically on four to five consecutive Wednesday or Sunday evenings during the spring. The first session in each series is a FREE introductory clinic. Please call the Quarterpath Recreation Center at 259-3760 for details about upcoming volleyball clinics.
