YOUTH BASKETBALL LEAGUE PROGRAM
This program is designed to teach children the skills and rules involved in the sport of basketball. Every player is required to play at least one-half of each game they attend. Leagues are offered for boys and girls ages 6 through 17 (age as of September 1). An informational flier is distributed to all local schools.

(Rising 6th Graders - 8th Graders) - YOUTH VOLLEYBALL LEAGUE PROGRAM
This program has a beginner to intermediate co-ed league for grades 3 thru 12. This league is designed to teach children the skills and rules necessary to play the sport of volleyball. Each player rotates into every game so all participants are involved.
The William & Mary Women's Volleyball team conducts a clinic for all registered participants in March and September, each starting at 5:15 p.m. - JUNIOR OLYMPIC CLUB VOLLEYBALL
The Department sponsors Junior Olympic (JO) Volleyball Club teams for boys and girls ages 18 and under. Boys and girls compete separately and are divided into the following age divisions: 18, 17, 16, 15, 14, 13 & 12. There is also a co-ed 10 and under division. Age divisions may be combined depending on the number of participants.
The teams practice locally and compete in weekend tournaments around the state and region against other club teams. The program is intended for players dedicated to the sport and committed to improving their skills and knowledge of the game. These teams are selected through tryouts held in November preceding the season. Boys and girls, ages 8 - 18 years old, may participate in the annual volleyball camp. This week long camp is held in the summer and is divided into two age divisions, 8-12 and 13-18. Call the Quarterpath Recreation Center at 259-3760 for dates and fees.

- SUMMER FUN PLAYGROUND PROGRAM
The Summer Fun Playground Program is offered to Williamsburg, James City County and York County residents for children who have completed grades K-4 and 5-7. The York County Parks and Recreation Department operate this program. For more information please call York County Parks and Recreation at 890-3500 or go to their web site at http://www.yorkcounty.gov/parksandrec/summer/summer.htm The program focuses on keeping participants active and challenged in a safe recreational setting. Each program site features station-based activities in open environments. Whether the choice is ping-pong, nok-hockey, board games, arts and crafts, or outdoor sports and recreation, the general idea is always FUN! Activities are well supervised by qualified camp leaders.
Session: end of June through end of July
Monday - Thursday (no Fridays, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.) - YOUTH TENNIS CAMP
A local high school tennis coach conducts this camp for intermediate to advanced girls & boys ages 12 - 18. This camp is typically held in late July or early August and runs Monday through Thursday. Camp is held at the Kiwanis Park Tennis Courts. Each participant will also receive a 30-minute lesson which will be scheduled during the week of the camp. Format for the camp is 1 hour 45 minutes of drills and instruction and 45 minutes of match play. For more information on dates and fees, call the Quarterpath Recreation Center at 259-3760. Registrations only accepted at the Quarterpath Recreation Center.

YOUTH SOFTBALL LEAGUE PROGRAM
Youth softball leagues are offered for boys ages 6 - 14 and girls ages 6 - 17. The emphasis is on teaching skills and good sportsmanship while having fun. Each player bats and plays in the field every game. Practices and games are held in the evenings during the week and during the day on weekends.Boys Leagues:

- WILLIAMSBURG STARZ GIRLS FAST PITCH TOURNAMENT TEAMS
The Department sponsors the Williamsburg Starz Fast Pitch Tournament teams for girls ages 8 through 18. The teams practice locally and compete in weekend tournaments around the state.
