TUESDAY, MAY 6, 2008

Sample Ballot

The Constitution of Virginia requires that you be registered in the precinct in which you live in order to be qualified to vote.  To be eligible to vote in the May 6, 2008, City Council Election you must be 18 years of age on or before May 6, 2008, and registered to vote.  The last day in which a person may register to vote or make changes to their voter registration is Monday, April 7, 2008, at 5:00 p.m.

Final day to apply for an absentee ballot by mail is Tuesday, April 29,  2008, and in person Saturday May 3, 2008, at 5:00 p.m.  Registrants who will not be in the City on Election Day due to education, illness, business or vacation may apply for an absentee ballot in person or by requesting an absentee ballot application in writing to the address below.  In person absentee voting will be available during our regular office hours and on Saturday, April 26, 2008 and Saturday, May 3, 2008 between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

Regular Office Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Remember:  Monday, April 7, 2008, is the final day to register to vote in the May 6, City Council  Election.  We will be open 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Polls open 6:00 a.m. and close 7:00 p.m.
