Community and Workplace Buddy
The Department will assign a staff member or a community volunteer to be your new employees support person. This individual will contact your employee regularly to see how the job is going, what difficulties may have arisen, and what area(s) of improvement might need to be addressed. The employer may also assign a workplace buddy, if needed, for on-the-job support .
Training Opportunities
We encourage training and enrichment opportunities for our participants. We will work with you, in order to send your employee to workshops and other training activities that win improve both work habits and skill levels.
Local Citizen Opportunities
The Employment Services Worker will make an assessment of employment skills, provide pre-employment counseling, and make referrals to local employers, Job Training Services [JTS], and the Virginia Employment Commission [VEC].
