The City of Williamsburg's Comprehensive -- or Comp -- Plan is the City’s adopted policy guide for land use, and deals with issues such as community character, population growth, economic development, housing, environment, infrastructure and transportation. This is the City’s seventh Comprehensive Plan, the first adopted in 1953. (View the 2006 Plan here.)
The Williamsburg Planning Department began preparing the plan in March 2011 to December 2012. Planning Commission recommended adoption December 19, 2012, and City Council adopted it January 10, 2013. To learn more about the process and view chapter drafts, click here.
