Waller Mill Park is located on Airport Road (Rt. 645) between I-64 and Rt. 60 West, is the City's 2705-acre park situated around its reservoir that was opened to the public in July 1972. The 360-acre lake is open for fishing, boating, pedal boating, canoeing and kayaking with a tunnel connecting the upper and lower sections of the lake. Numerous picnic tables, four shelters, play fields, and playground equipment are nestled among the trees providing a scenic picnic area. The shelters can accommodate 25-150 people.  Cornhole games and fishing poles are now available for rent at Waller Mill Park.  Get more information at the Operations Building or call (757) 259-3778.

Disc Golf Now Open

Waller Mill Park is home to an 18-hole Disc Golf course. Disc Golf is played in much the same fashion as traditional golf but uses thrown discs instead of a struck ball. The sport, which was first played in the 1970s, shares a similar goal with traditional golf of completing a hole in the fewest number of strokes (or in this case, throws!). Players will have a choice of two tee pads at each hole from which to throw their discs along the fairway towards the metal basket.

  • Daily Pass: $2/Per person
  • Annual Pass: $37/Per Person
This is good for a year from date of purchase and includes vehicle entrance.
  • Disc Rental: $1/Per Disc, Per Day
  • For more information, please contact Waller Mill Park at (757) 259-3778 or (757) 259-3779.

Hiking trails provide an interesting, picturesque walk with water and wooded views. A two-mile asphalt bike trail offers a scenic connection between Mooretown and Rochambeau Roads. A short hike from the park along the asphalt bike trail will bring you to the Lookout Tower, which offers a panoramic view of the water and woodlands. In an effort to preserve the natural characteristics of the park, feeding of wildlife is prohibited.

The Waller Mill Dog Park is a joint venture between the City of Williamsburg and James City County.

Waller Mill Park has four shelters with a variety of amenities. Please call (757) 259-3778 to check date availability and prices.
