Welcome to the City of Williamsburg's Transportation Center located in downtown Williamsburg, one block north of the corner of N. Boundary and Lafayette Streets.
The Williamsburg Transportation Center is located at 468 North Boundary Street directly behind the Municipal Building and the Fire Station. The station is a fine brick building with a covered platform abutting the CSX rail system main track. The Center is located 4 blocks from Colonial Williamsburg. The 5400 square foot station was built in 1935 on 1.6 acres of land as part of the Rockefeller restoration of the Historic Area.
In 2000, the City of Williamsburg purchased the station from Colonial Williamsburg. The architectural group of Guernsey Tingle was hired by the City to renovate and restore the building. The goal was to increase the function and usefulness of the center, while still maintaining its' 1935 character and charm.
The Center includes an Amtrak office, waiting rooms, public restrooms and a vending area where visitors can grab a quick snack and also pick up visitor information guides.
