School Resource Officers

School Resource Officers

The Williamsburg Police Department (WPD) believes that a safe learning environment is paramount to the educational process. Our students cannot truly learn if they do not feel safe. Each day, WPD officers strive to keep our schools safe. They do so by serving as role models and forming strong relationships with students and staff, ensuring they feel comfortable with sharing information that is prudent to a safe school environment.

The City of Williamsburg is home to three of Williamsburg/James City County (WJCC) Public Schools. We have staffed both of our middle schools, Berkeley and James Blair, as well as our elementary school, Matthew Whaley, with full-time, dedicated SRO's to assist with any law enforcement needs.
