The records custodian provides comprehensive records and reporting services for the purpose of supporting the law enforcement objectives of the Williamsburg Police Department in accordance with required Virginia State Statutes. The records custodian is the primary repository of police reports generated by sworn personnel of the Williamsburg Police Department. The records department is an element of the Professional Services Bureau and is responsible for the processing, storage, retrieval, and effective management of police reports.

Public records requests may be made through our Records Custodian. Please allow 2 to 3 business days to process most requests, requests that will take more time will be discussed on a case by case basis.
