The Williamsburg Emergency Communication's 911 Center has implemented a program along with "File of Life" to provide emergency responders added information to assist in their aid to residents. This program has been labeled "Heads-Up" to indicate by computer an alert to the 911 operators that additional information has been documented by a city resident for release to the emergency responder.
The program's goal is to provide the highest degree of emergency care to our residents. The program is targeted toward residents with special physical needs. It can also be an identifier of individuals who are mentally impaired and require supervision or special assistance in an emergency. This information will assist in providing the care specific to the needs of an individual.
