Alzheimer Support is a free service that assists Williamsburg city families who have loved ones with Alzheimer’s disease or dementia. Through our free search tool and database of Alzheimer’s care facilities, families in need of care for their loved ones can locate licensed care homes and communities in the Williamsburg city area that are best equipped to provide care for their loved ones.

Avalon Center works to end domestic and sexual violence by breaking the cycle of abuse through prevention, education, shelter, and support services in the Greater Williamsburg and Middle Peninsula communities.
By offering tools for safety, self-sufficiency, and empowerment, Avalon helps break the cycle of abuse and build a stronger, healthier community.

The mission of Colonial Behavioral Health, the local Community Services Board, is to facilitate opportunities for recovery, resiliency and wellness to individuals and families affected by mental illness, intellectual disabilities and substance use disorders.
Through an array of strategies and collaborative partnerships with local and regional providers, CBH will demonstrate a commitment to quality assessment, prevention, treatment and habilitation through best practice methodology for the citizens of James City County, City of Poquoson, City of Williamsburg, and York County.
Through the provision of behavioral health services, Colonial Behavioral Health's vision is to make our communities healthier, safer places to live. CBH provides services for mental health illnesses, intellectual disabilities and substance use disorders to individuals and families living in James City County, Poquoson, Williamsburg, and York County

9th District Court Service Unit (CSU) serves eleven jurisdictions, which includes the two cities of Poquoson and Williamsburg, and nine counties of Charles City, Gloucester, King and Queen, King William, Mathews, Middlesex, New Kent, James City, and York.
The services provided by 9th District CSU include juvenile intake, probation, parole, pre-dispositional investigations and pre-court services for case management. The 9th District CSU is also the site of the Statewide Video Intake Unit. The District office is located in Williamsburg, VA.

Human Services Partner Agency Application
The City of Williamsburg’s July 1, 2024 to June 30, 2025 Fiscal Year, Human Services Partner Agency Online Application for Funding opens October 9, 2023.
The following criteria will be used in evaluating your agency for continued or new funding in the upcoming fiscal year:
• Does the agency provide both necessary and direct services to city residents? Services will be evaluated on whether or not they are critical to an individual’s or family’s health, emotional or physical well-being, or ability to be self-sufficient.
• Are the services non-duplicative and cost-effective?
• Does the agency partner with the Human Services Department and its staff on an ongoing basis?
• Are the services , accessible, and affordable (if not free, please include rationale and sliding fee scale)?
• Lastly, is the amount requested proportionate to the percentage being received from other localities, based on actual, unduplicated numbers of citizens being served?
Additionally, there are other factors which will be taken into consideration, such as a satisfactory audit, agency stability, and a mission and purpose which is in line with the City of Williamsburg’s priorities and commitments to provide the best possible service to its residents.
Please remember that your client/demographic data and your agency’s budget history, includes your entire agency’s statistics and operating budget.
All applications, along with an uploaded copy of the board of directors’ list, organizational chart, and latest audit will be due by 4:30 PM on November 9, 2023.
