[ARCHIVED] COVID-19 Vaccination Update – March 6, 2021

The Greater Williamsburg Clinic, operating out of the Colonial Williamsburg Visitor Center, administered 2,752 doses of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine this week for a total of 9,219 vaccinations since its opening on Friday, Jan. 22, 2021.

The Virginia Department of Health (VDH) continues to handle the scheduling for the Greater Williamsburg Clinic, prioritizing those aged 65 and older who have pre-registered with the health department. VDH is also handling the scheduling of second-dose appointments at the clinic.

Virginia received its initial shipment of the Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine this week. The state received a total of 69,000 doses. By mid-month, Virginia expects to order 100,000 doses a week of the J&J vaccine, according to Dr. Danny Avula, who is overseeing vaccine distribution in the state. Virginia is also steadily receiving more doses of the Moderna and Pfizer vaccines each week.

We ask for your continued patience as we work toward administering vaccinations to more segments of the general public. For questions about vaccine distribution in Greater Williamsburg, call the information line at 877-724-1954; it is open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays. Answers to Frequently Asked Questions can be found at williamsburgva.gov/covid19vaccine or at vdh.virginia.gov

The City of Williamsburg has posted its weekly vaccination update to its online hub, which collects the latest coronavirus information and visual data. This data includes the number of vaccinations administered at the Greater Williamsburg Clinic.
