[ARCHIVED] Residential Structure Fire – 400 Block of South Boundary Street

The City of Williamsburg Fire Department, James City County Fire Department, and York County Fire and Life Safety were dispatched at 6:49 p.m. to the 400 block of South Boundary Street for a residential structure fire.

The first unit arrived on scene at 6:55 p.m. and found fire and smoke coming from the roof and eaves of the residence. Crews quickly contained the fire and searched the residence for any victims. All occupants were able to escape on their own before fire personnel arrived.

The fire was marked under control at approximately 7:05 p.m. Three adults will be temporarily displaced because of this fire.

A total of 18 firefighters responded to the incident, which is currently under investigation by the Williamsburg Fire Department’s Community Risk Reduction Team. This incident emphasizes the importance of having working smoke alarms in your home and an escape plan.

Any questions related to this incident, the department’s Smoke Alarm Program, or the department’s Home Safety Survey program, can be directed to the Williamsburg Fire Department at 757-220-6220.
