City to Conduct 2022 National Community Survey

This month, the City of Williamsburg begins its biannual citizen survey using the National Community Survey (NCS). The NCS is a collaborative program between the National Research Center at Polco and the International City/County Management Association. The City has used the NCS program since 2008.

The survey focuses on livability. It will be mailed to a random sample of 2,800 residents across the City and will address topics such as quality of life, public safety, environmental sustainability, recreation and wellness, community inclusiveness, civic engagement and public trust. The results of the last survey in 2020 can be found on the City website.

Residents who receive a survey, regardless of how long they have lived in Williamsburg, are urged to take a few minutes to complete it either online or through the paper survey that can be returned in the postage paid envelope.

At a later date, the survey will be opened to all Williamsburg residents, as well as residents in the surrounding communities in James City and York counties.
