Portion of Longhill Road to Close for Tree Removal

Longhill Road Partial Closure MapLonghill Road, between Robert Elliffe Road and Governor Berkeley Road, will close between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. Thursday, March 9, 2023, weather permitting.

A contractor working for the City of Williamsburg will be removing an oak tree along Longhill Road that is in declining health and leaning over the road.

Traffic will be detoured into the Skipwith Farms neighborhood to avoid the tree removal area.

The sidewalk on this portion of Longhill Road will remain open until 8:30 a.m. so that children walking to James Blair Middle School are not detoured.

In case of inclement weather, a rain date for the tree removal has been set for Thursday, March 16, 2023.
