1. Where is the vaccination clinic?

The City of Williamsburg and James City County have worked together to open a vaccination clinic at the Colonial Williamsburg Visitor Center, located at 101 Visitor Center Drive.

Vaccinations at this clinic are by appointment only; walk-ins are not permitted.

2. Can I get a COVID-19 test at this site?

No. This site is for vaccinations only.

3. Is this site taking walk-ins?

The Greater Williamsburg Clinic is not allowing walk-in vaccination appointments. Appointments will be coordinated through the Virginia Department of Health, which is scheduling people who have pre-registered at vaccinate.virginia.gov.

4. Do I have to go to the clinic nearest me?

For appointments coordinated by the Virginia Department of Health, you will be assigned a clinic based on your location. All appointments at the Greater Williamsburg Clinic are coordinated by VDH. 

5. I have an appointment scheduled. How long will it take to receive a dose of the vaccine?

We estimate that the entire process takes about 30 minutes.

6. What safety protocols are in place at the clinic?

The clinic at the Colonial Williamsburg Visitor Center is following federal and state health guidelines.

• Masks are required.
• When people arrive at the Visitor Center, the clinic has four wellness stations that will check people’s temperatures. If someone scheduled to get their vaccine reads a high temperature, they will be unable to receive their vaccine and will need to follow up to reschedule. Vaccines can not be administered to those who have a fever. 
• Vaccination stations and all seating areas are set up so participants can maintain a 6-foot distance from others.
• There is a 15-minute observation period post-vaccination to monitor for any adverse reactions.

7. What should I know about the process once I arrive?

When you arrive at the Visitor Center parking lot, you will see signage that leads you to the entrance. Please stay in your car until 5 minutes before your appointment time. Staff will guide you through the process once you arrive in the building, including any questions you may have about the vaccine itself. After you receive the vaccine, there will be a 15-minute observation period to monitor for any adverse reactions.

8. I would like to have a friend/family member who is not receiving the vaccine accompany me. Are they able to come inside?

Only children/minors or those assisting someone with a handicap or other special needs are allowed to accompany someone scheduled for vaccination at the Visitor Center. All others should remain outside or in their vehicles for the duration of the appointment.

9. Who is administering the vaccines?

Vaccines will be administered by Licensed Registered Nurses and EMS providers who are certified as EMT-Intermediates or Paramedics. Each provider is trained in medication administration and have had specific training on the COVID-19 vaccine being administered.

10. Which manufacture of the vaccine does the clinic administer?

Three COVID-19 vaccines — Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna, and Johnson & Johnson's Janssen — have been authorized in the United States. Read about the Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna, and Johnson & Johnson's Janssen vaccines on the CDC website.
