Cedar Grove Cemetery is located at 809 S. Henry Street is owned and operated by the City. The 20 acre cemetery employs a full-time cemetery caretaker who is on the grounds Monday through Friday 8:00am - 4:00pm. Cemetery handout and overview Cemetery Map.
Only City residents who physically reside in the city are allowed to purchase burial spaces in the cemetery. Former 10 year+ City residents are also allowed to purchase at double the current price. Proof of current and prior residency must be approved before purchase.
- Must meet residency requirements.
- Choose an available burial location by meeting with the Cemetery Caretaker.
- Execute certificate and make payment at the Municipal Building.
Burials are allowed Monday through Saturday. No Sundays. It is best to schedule burials with the City prior to the availability of the funeral home or church as we only allow one burial to take place at a time. There is an additional fee for opening and closing of the grave.
Monuments/Gravemarkers:The City does not provide monuments, these can be obtained through a monument company or funeral home. There is a fee for a concrete base that the city installs to protect the monument. Contact the City for monument rules and regulations. The City can deny installation of a monument if it does not meet city rules and regulations.
The Cedar Grove Memorial Garden within Cedar Grove Cemetery is specifically set up for cremains only. There are no City residency requirements for burials; the garden is open to all. Only biodegradable containers are allowed. Granite monuments listing the names of the deceased surround the Memorial Garden.
A fee of $350.00 includes burial of cremains and engraving of name on the granite monument. The fee may prepaid or paid at the time of burial.
