FORWARD WILLIAMSBURG REOPENING PLAN - Phase 3 - City of Williamsburg Public buildings will be open. All services remain available online or by alternative means. Citizens will need to check in and mask and temperature screening are required. Staff will be on alternating shifts, others will be teleworking. Quarterpath recreation center remains closed.

Residents must use theirCity provided garbage cart--gray with BLUE lid.
Do not leave your cart at the curb after collection.
Place cart at the curb before 7 a.m. on your assigned collection day (Monday or Tuesday) with the lid opening facing the street and placed 3 ft. away from other carts, parked cars, utility poles, trees and bushes.
Trucks are automated, place all garbage in your cart. Items outside of the cart will not be collected.
If you miss leaf collection, leaves can be bagged (10 bag limit) and placed at the curb for the garbage company to collect on your garbage day.
Christmas trees are usually collected on the first two Mondays in January - dates to be determined for 2020. Please remove lights and decorations. Your tree must be at the curb before 7 am on these dates.
Recycling is collected on your garbage day (Monday or Tuesday) every other week.
The City does not provide business recycling services. Businesses must contract services directly with a recycling hauler (see list below) or take recyclables to the Tewning Road Convenience Center located at 117 Tewning Road. It is free to use the center.

The landfill is owned and operated by James City County but City residents are allowed. There is a charge to use the landfill which can be paid in two ways - pre-purchased coupons or credit card on site. NO CASH.
Coupon booklets are available at the City Williamsburg or James City County Treasurer's offices for $20/5 coupons. Number of coupons is subject to size of the load.
