UPDATE MARCH 30, 2020:  The following City of Williamsburg buildings and facilities are closed to the public through April 23:  Municipal Building, Stryker Center, Quarterpath Recreation Center, Waller Mill Park, Police Department and Fire Station (only required staff will be at work, others will be teleworking). The TDF is funded through a portion of a 1% sales tax increase established by Virginia Senate Bill 942 (2018) and agreed to by Williamsburg City Council and leaders in James City County and York County in late April /early May 2018. The sales tax increase does not include groceries and went into effect in July of 2018.

Flow of funds new 2018 

The purpose of the Tourism Development Fund (TDF) is to increase patronage to restaurants, attractions, hotels, and events in the City of Williamsburg through financial assistance and reinvestment in tourism products, place-making projects, special events, public-private partnerships, and destination marketing.
